In this report, we examine stocks that C-level officers and directors bought and sold ending the week of April 28,2018.

Insiders sell stock for many reasons, but they generally buy for just one – to make money.  As a standard, we only look at material amounts of money, $100 thousand or more, as anything less could just be window dressing.

The bar is different with selling, because the natural state of management is to be sellers. This is because most companies provide significant amounts of management compensation packages as stock. Therefore, with selling, we analyze for unusual patterns, such as insiders selling 25 percent or more of their holdings or multiple insiders selling near 52 week lows.

Another red flag are large planned sale programs that start without warning. We generally ignore 10 percent shareholders as they tend to be OPM (other people’s money) and not the SMART money we are trying to go to school on.  Although this info is available for free from the SEC’s Web site , Edgar, we subscribe to the Washington Service as they provide a way to manage and make sense of the vast realms of data.

FUL – Fuller (H B) Co
Inside Trade Info: Fuller (H B) Co FUL CFO Corkrean John J purchased 9,600 shares at $52.06 for a total of $499.7K.

Why is this unusual and significant?
He was just assigned as new CFO of FUL (in 2016). However, we found this transaction interesting as he has a lot of experience in industrial sector (serves as Senior Vice President of Finance at Nalco Campion).
Current Performance:

NBEV – New Age Beverages Corp
Inside Trade Info: New Age Beverages Corp NBEV Dir Haas Timothy J purchased 100,000 shares at $1.76 for a total of $175.9K.

Why is this unusual and significant?
Beverage industry is very competitive. However, this company is very unique despite its small market capitalization. It is because Coca-Cola CEO serves as an independent director for this company. In fact, he recently purchased $200K of shares.
Current Performance:

EGP – EastGroup Properties
Inside Trade Info: EastGroup Properties EGP VP Coleman John F sold 6,000 shares at $85.42 for a total of $512.5K.

Why is this unusual and significant?
We did not struggle much with his trading patterns. He clearly shows buy low and sell high pattern (his track record proves it). So he definitely knows when to pull and push. In addition, this transaction was interesting as it was his largest trade.
Current Performance:

MOV – Movado Group Inc
Inside Trade Info: Movado Group Inc MOV Dir Cote Richard J sold 28,693 shares at $38.39 for a total of $1.1M.

Why is this unusual and significant?
We found out that he is a very smart and intelligent person. He has a lot of experience. However, we would like to value his investment skills more than anything else. Just like EGP, he clearly buys low and sells high. In fact, we found multiple transactions that happened right before the price change. Therefore, this transaction could mean something.
